Employees of The St. Joe Company take an active role in the business of the Foundation. Each member brings a point of reference that ensures our mission is carried out. The Board of Trustees is comprised of the following people, none of whom receives compensation from Foundation:
Jorge Gonzalez, President and Chief Executive Officer of The St. Joe Company, has been with the company since 2002 and has over 26 years of continuous experience in various planning and real estate related roles. Mr. Gonzalez holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from The Florida State University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on various community boards and organizations including the FSU Panama City Campus Development Board, the Bay County Economic Development Alliance, the Northwest Florida Manufacturer’s Council, Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center, and Enterprise Florida.
Rhea Goff is the Chief Administrative Officer and a Vice President for The St. Joe Company. Ms. Goff began working with St. Joe in 2003 as an HR Assistant at WaterColor Inn & Resort focusing on human resources for St. Joe's resort and club operations in Walton and Bay Counties. In 2005, her role expanded to a corporate position managing human resources for the Northwest Florida region, and later, company-wide. Ms. Goff is now responsible for oversight of all HR operations throughout the company. She also oversees Marketing, Information Technology as well as a variety of St. Joe corporate administration, policies, and compliance matters. Ms. Goff ensures that operating strategies of the company’s divisions align with corporate strategies and identifies opportunities and synergies between the operating groups. Ms. Goff earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University in 2001. Rhea serves on the Board of The St. Joe Community Foundation, Bay County Chamber and Florida’s Great Northwest where she is an Endowment Manager for the FGNW Foundation. Rhea also serves on the Dune Lakes Elementary School Advisory Council, Seaside School Board as well as the South Walton High School Business Advisory Board.
Elizabeth J. Walters, Esquire, is the Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the St. Joe Company. She joins the company after more than 20 years with Burke Blue Hutchison Walters & Smith, P.A., a full-service legal firm based in Panama City, Florida where she was a partner. Ms. Walters has represented clients in commercial, resort and residential real estate law from property acquisition, design, entitlement process, financing, construction and project operations, to redevelopment or sale of real property. She also represented clients in the areas of land use law, governmental relations, banking, business and commercial law. Prior to joining Burke Blue, Ms. Walters served in various senior staff positions with the Florida Cabinet and Legislature. She also held positions with statewide political campaigns and successfully represented interests of clients as a governmental consultant. Ms. Walters holds a BA and MA from The University of West Florida and a JD with honors from The Florida State University College of Law.
Ms. Walters has served in many leadership positions throughout Northwest Florida and her current involvement includes: Chair of The Florida Board of Bar Examiners; Board of Trustees for the Florida State University Foundation; Chair of the Board of Trustees of Bay Medical Center/ Sacred Heart Health System; Chair of the Panama City Port Authority, and member of the Bay Defense Alliance. Ms. Walters is past Chair of the Bay Economic Development Alliance, past Chair of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and past Chair of the Military Affairs Committee.
